What is an IBC Tote?

An Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) tote is a reusable industrial container designed for the transport and storage of bulk liquids, pastes, and granulated substances. The standard IBC consists of three main components: a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) inner bottle, a galvanized steel cage frame, and a pallet base (wood, steel, or composite). IBC totes are the workhorses of industrial liquid handling — versatile, stackable, and forklift-compatible.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a 275 and a 330 gallon IBC tote?
Both share the same 48" x 40" pallet footprint, but the 330-gallon tote has a taller bottle for roughly 20% more capacity. The 275 fits standard pallet racking, while the taller 330 may not.
Are your IBC totes food grade?
Our Grade A totes are typically suitable for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical use. If you need certified food-grade, ask and we will confirm the prior contents and provide documentation.
What do the A, B, and C grades mean?
Grade A is like-new with a clear bottle and straight cage; Grade B is good condition with light staining; Grade C is fair with noticeable staining or surface rust, ideal for non-food uses.
What valve and fill openings come standard?
Most totes ship with a 2" NPT butterfly discharge valve and a 6" or 8" threaded fill cap. We also stock ball valves, camlock adapters, and replacement caps if you need a different setup.
