Complete Material Recovery

Our recycling process is designed to extract maximum value from every component of an IBC tank. Rather than sending entire units to a landfill, we disassemble each tote and process each material through its optimal recycling stream.

HDPE Plastic Bottle

99% recovery

The polyethylene bottle is shredded, washed, and granulated into HDPE pellets. These pellets are sold to manufacturers who use them to produce drainage pipes, plastic lumber, pallets, and non-food containers. HDPE is one of the most recyclable plastics — it can be reprocessed multiple times without significant degradation.

Galvanized Steel Cage

100% recovery

Steel cages that can't be reused are dismantled and sent to steel recycling facilities. The galvanized steel is melted down and recast — steel is infinitely recyclable with no loss in quality. The zinc galvanization is also recovered in the smelting process.

Wood Pallet Base

95% recovery

Wooden pallets in good condition are repaired and resold into the pallet market. Damaged wood is chipped for use as mulch, animal bedding, or biomass fuel. Composite pallets are processed separately through appropriate recycling streams.

Valves & Hardware

90% recovery

Brass, polypropylene, and stainless steel components are sorted by material type and sent to specialized recyclers. Functional valves and fittings are cleaned and resold as replacement parts.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What percentage of an IBC tank can you actually recycle?
We achieve a 95%+ overall material recovery rate. The HDPE bottle recovers around 99%, the galvanized steel cage 100%, wooden pallet bases roughly 95%, and valves and hardware about 90%.
What happens to the HDPE plastic bottle?
The polyethylene bottle is shredded, washed, and granulated into HDPE pellets. Those pellets are sold to manufacturers for products like drainage pipe, plastic lumber, pallets, and non-food containers.
Why recycle an IBC instead of sending it to a landfill?
Disassembling and recycling each component keeps reusable materials in circulation and out of the waste stream. It is better for the environment and often more cost-effective than disposal fees.
Do you provide documentation for recycled containers?
Yes. Our business recycling programs include certificates of recycling and monthly reporting to support your ESG and sustainability tracking, plus compliance with state and federal waste regulations.
Is pickup free for businesses?
Pickup is free for quantities of 10 or more units. We offer scheduled or on-demand collection tailored to how frequently your facility generates end-of-life IBC containers.
